Huang Yinglong celibrates its first year.
We were in Alakgur it dawned on us. Turalna and I had been flying with a few Republic Security Sservices pilots for some time. There was plenty of downtime between training flights. We spent many hours spent quizzing the older veterans on their tales and adventures, while working on their ships and equipment and fiddling with with our own fittings, spending our hard-earned ISK. We also had plenty of time to think about our own futures, and what sort of tales and legends we would recount ourselves.
We were among the earliest of the Vherokior tribe to become pod pilots. Our kin were widely scattered within the Republic and Federation, but more and more were being accepted into the Republic's academies and passing the rigorous capsuleer examinations. It seemed only natural--the idea of founding a corp recognizing the unique strengths, culture and traditions of our people. That corp would be Huang Yinglong--the Golden Dragons of Victory.
The legends of the Huang Yinglong dates far back into the the mystic annals of our people, to the time of the Old Vherokior Empire on Pator. They are the stories our elders recounted to us as children. The Huang Yinglong legend is a force that has molded us into achieving our destiny, striving to recapture the warrior ethics of our ancestors and relive their ancient splendor.
Long Wusu -- the Martial Path of the Dragon -- is among the most difficult and advanced of the ancient Vherokior martial arts. It is not merely a combat discipline, but a mental and spiritual state of being. As inexperienced as we were, we recalled these ancient epics and teachings, and committed these ideals as the founding principles of our new corporation, even naming our corp after the Huang Yinglong, breathing life back into the old legend.
I will spare you the details of all the events of the past year, with our brief service in the CIC, before joining Namtz'aar K'in at end of last third cycle. The warriors of Huang Yinglong have fought in many wars and we have all tasted the bitterness of the vacuum of space. When looking back upon all that has occurred, I see Huang Yinglong evolving beyond its individuals pilots. I believe, nay, I know that we have achieved a level where our actions and even our mere presence now has a profound affect upon those around us--those we support and protect, those that are comrades-in-arms, and those we that we strive against daily.
We have created something unique; we have not only breathed life back into the legend of the Huang Yinglong, but we are becoming the legend of Huang Yinglong.
